Opus Forensic Accounting expands in north west

A major boost to forensic accounting capability sees Opus Forensic Accounting strengthening its operations with the appointment of Paul Widger FCA as Director at its Manchester office.  Widger is joined by specialist Carolyn Plummer, significantly boosting the firm’s national forensic capabilities and expertise in personal-injury cases.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Widger has led an in-house forensic practice for a decade and previously spent 11 years at a top-10 accountancy firm, advising on commercial disputes, financial investigations and valuations.

“Paul’s background is exceptional.  Having led an in-house forensic accounting practice at a global law firm, he brings a deep understanding of what lawyers need from forensic experts and what clients need in high-stakes disputes.  His arrival significantly strengthens our national offering, and we are delighted to welcome him to Opus,” says Nicholas Parton, Head of Forensic Accounting, Opus.

“I’m excited to be joining Opus Forensic Accounting at a time of continued growth for the firm’s forensic accounting practice.  Opus has built a strong national reputation for high-quality expert work, and I look forward to developing the Manchester offering while working closely with colleagues across the UK – particularly the firm’s established restructuring teams, where forensic accounting input is often critical to achieving the right outcomes for clients,” adds Paul Widger.

The appointments strengthen Opus’s national network, adding to its existing forensic teams across London, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Bristol.
