Bamforth joins Opus Business Advisory Group
Global business advisory firm, Opus Business Advisory Group appoints Heather Bamforth as Director, bringing two decades of experience in business turnaround and strategic support. Previously at KPMG, she will focus on strengthening the firm's Manchester-based advisory capabilities.
With a career spanning Big 4, top-10 and regional accountancy firms, Heather has extensive experience across administrations, CVAs, accelerated M&A and complex stakeholder environments, as well as advisory-led turnaround work across a variety of industries and sectors.
“What attracted me to Opus was the people, the culture and the clarity of purpose,” comments Heather Bamforth. “Too often, businesses only access advice when their options have narrowed. I believe business owners deserve the opportunity and the time to fix problems before they become terminal. Opus’ advisory-led approach allows us to stabilize value, create breathing space and help clients make decisions based on facts, not fear.”
Earlier in her career, Heather worked on several high-profile administrations, including several well-known retail and consumer brands. In recent years, however, her focus has shifted decisively towards early-stage advisory and value stabilization, helping business owners to identify issues early, extend their cash runway, thereby enabling them to make informed decisions before formal processes become unavoidable.
As the Chair of the North West Committee for the Institute for Turnaround (IFT), Heather’s appointment further strengthens Opus’ presence and influence within the UK’s advisory turnaround and restructuring community. “Heather brings a rare combination of deep technical experience and genuine empathy for business owners under pressure. Her background, network and mindset are an excellent fit for Opus, and for the clients we support every day,” says Frank Ofonagoro, Partner, Opus Business Advisory Group.
“Heather’s appointment reinforces our commitment to early intervention and proactive advice. Her experience and perspective will significantly strengthen our ability to help businesses navigate uncertainty and find a path forward,” adds Tim Dolder, Managing Partner, Opus Business Advisory Group.
At Opus, Heather will work closely with Partner Frank Ofonagoro within the firm’s advisory team, supporting owner-managed and mid-market businesses in Manchester and across the UK.
