WFSO selects Brady

A leading Irish renewables generator, WFSO, has selected Brady’s (www.bradyplc.com) Energy Settlement Manager (ESM) solution (to trade electricity more efficiently across Ireland.

Brady’s ESM solution (www.bradyplc.com/european-physical-power-trading-solutions/) has been specifically designed for the Irish electricity market and enables market participants to independently reconcile charges and payments raised by SEMO based on the complex Trade and Settlement Code rules.

The solution also helps to manage and analyse the large volume of data received from the operator several times a day.  It eliminates highly time-consuming manual processes such as downloading daily statements and reports, verifying settlement values, updating trading P&L with settlement data, approving invoices and communicating their status with the operator.

"Our Energy Settlement Manager solution was initially developed for the Irish Single Electricity Market and was later adapted to reflect new requirements arising from the formation of I-SEM," explains Carmen Carey, CEO, Brady plc.

"Historically, Brady has been at the forefront of market design, helping to create the operations for the first Nordic power trading exchange.  Our work in Ireland is another example of our collaborative development with customers to provide software solutions which specifically address regional market nuances."

Since the introduction of the Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM) back in 2018, WFSO has deployed Brady solutions for electricity trading, scheduling and balancing.

"Brady's software is at the core of our electricity trading operations and its knowledge of the Irish electricity market dynamics is unrivalled in the industry," says Andrew Burke, Head of Trading at WFSO.
