Plans for fourth London data centre

Responding to demand for hyper efficient, metro fibre connected, flexible and scalable colocation space, VIRTUS Data Centres (www.virtusdatacentres.com),  one of the UK’s fastest growing data centre providers - and where the cloud lives in London – has announced the launch of its fourth facility.  The new data centre - to be called LONDON3 - will be located next to the existing VIRTUS LONDON4 in Slough, creating an expandable secure connected campus. Both buildings will be linked and share facilities.

This new data centre will provide an additional 3,000 NTM (net technical metres) of IT space, and will increase VIRTUS’ portfolio in London to over 50MW across four sites, making it one of the leading providers in the capital.Neil Cresswell, CEO of VIRTUS Data Centres, commented, “The rapid adoption of cloud and digital business across all industries is driving the need for the kind of high quality and innovative data centre space that VIRTUS develops and operates. We have seen increasing demand for high performance solutions as well as more and more requirements to connect to cloud providers and other services. Our data centres are where the cloud lives in London, so they are in high demand from service providers and users wanting to better interconnect their applications and data across public and private clouds, and get closer to their consumers.”

The new data centre will be fitted out in two phases, with the first phase expected to open for business by Summer 2018.
