Implementing GDPR

Risk management and compliance solutions specialists, IT Governance (www.itgovernance.co.uk) has published the second edition of its popular book “EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – An Implementation and Compliance Guide ” (https://tinyurl.com/y8k4n9d2). Written by the IT Governance Privacy Team, the book explains on the first edition, and gives further guidance and clarification on the new data protection law and sets out the obligations of data processors and controllers in clear terms.

The GDPR will supersede the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive (DPD) and all EU member states’ national laws based on it – including the UK Data Protection Act 1998 – in May 2018. All organizations in any part of the world that process the personal data of EU residents must comply with the Regulation.  Failure to do so could result in fines of up to €20 million or 4% of annual global turnover – whichever is greater.

The second edition of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – An Implementation and Compliance Guide is available from IT Governance Ltd in various formats including softcover, Adobe eBook and ePub.
