Jeremy Ward

Jeremy Ward is the Service Development Director at Symantec. He sits on the UK Government/Industry Forum on Encryption and Law Enforcement and the Confederation of British Industry’s Web Security Working Group.

 

At the beginning of 1999, Jeremy was seconded to the UK Cabinet Office, where he was involved in writing a report on ‘Encryption and Law Enforcement’.

 

In September 1999, Jeremy was involved in setting up the Office of the e-Envoy. Jeremy was also responsible for publication of the first UK online annual report from the e-Minister and the e-Envoy, which was launched by the Prime Minister on 11 September 2000.

 

After gaining a PhD in Biological Sciences and undertaking post-doctoral work at Birmingham University, Jeremy joined the Ministry of Defence in 1982, specialising in security-related matters. Most recently he has managed major IT and telecommunications projects.
