An ever-increasing number of consumers are choosing to do their banking online,
and millions wish that they could deal with all their bills over the internet,
according to figures released by Alliance & Leicester.
The figures show that the number of consumers with online bank accounts has
risen 63% since 2003, and almost 20% of the people with internet bank accounts
now do all or most of their banking online, double the number of two years ago.
Helen Palmer, Alliance & Leicester Current Accounts Manager, commented: "With
our busy lifestyles, internet banking is more convenient for many people than
traditional branch banking.
"Banking online allows customers to address payments and bills without having to
deal with reams of paper."
As well as convenience, the study reveals that people who do all their banking
online are most likely to feel in full control of their finances.
